True Apostolic Mission members in horrific accident that killed eleven people and injured one hundred and nineteen truck passengers
Eleven people, five female, four male and two children.
were killed on Thursday at 4am, near the Ministry of Transport workshop in Kamativi while 119 people were left injured.
Passengers reportedly heard a loud bang then suddenly the driver of the 10-tonne truck lost control of the vehicle after bursting a tyre and overturning between Gwayi bridge and Kamativi with 130 passengers on board destined for a Hwange church conference from Siabuwa, Binga .
The group was supposed to attend an Apostolic church conference in Hwange but a survivor, Mr Clever Ncube, claims that the driver was aware of brake failure on the truck but buckled under pressure from passengers to proceed then around Kamativi, passengers heard a loud bang and the driver lost control in the accident.
The injured victims of the accident were rushed to have been taken to Kamativi clinic, St Patricks and Hwange Colliery hospital in Hwange for treatment.
Seriously injured passengers will be taken to Hwange hospital. More news to follow By Sibusiso Ngwenya
